The problem isn't running a node. The problem is running it at home.
Running a Bitcoin node at home means hardware powered on 24/7/365. With everything that implies: constant electricity cost, noise and heat, your home IP exposed on the network, the node goes down with every power or internet outage, and you're the support when something breaks at 3am.
At Neolo the node runs in our datacenters with 99.99% SLA, dedicated IPv4, automatic backups and Spanish-language technical support. You just connect via SSH or from your wallet.
Electricity: $15-30/month just for power
A full node draws 15-30W constantly. Multiply by 8,760 hours per year. That's before accounting for the days it takes to re-sync from scratch after an outage.
Hardware: $400-800 upfront
Raspberry Pi 5 + 2TB SSD + case + power supply + basic UPS. All that before configuring anything. And when hardware fails, you fix it.
Your home IP public on the Bitcoin network
Every outbound connection exposes your IP. At home that's your home address. At Neolo the node has its own dedicated IPv4, plus a Tor v3 address for extra privacy.
Everything you need to run your node, already configured
Bitcoin Core (latest stable version)
We install and keep Bitcoin Core updated. Full block validation, not pruned. Full archival node available on request.
Lightning Network: LND and Core Lightning
We install LND (Go) or CLN (C-Lightning) based on your preference. Open channels, route payments and earn sats from day one.
SSH root from minute one
Full root SSH access with public key authentication. It's your node โ you have complete control over the OS and software.
Dedicated IPv4 + Tor v3 address
Fixed, exclusive IPv4 for your node. Tor v3 .onion address configured for those who prefer extra privacy on their connections.
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS โ the recommended stack
The OS that node runners prefer: broad compatibility with Bitcoin Core, LND, BTCPay Server and Mempool.space.
Sync from snapshot
No waiting days. We deliver the node already synced from a recent blockchain snapshot. Operational in hours, not days.
Spanish-language support with Bitcoin knowledge
We don't respond with a generic article. We know what a Lightning channel is, what Tor is, what mempool means. Real support, 24/7.
Full Node technical specifications
- โ1 TB SSD NVMe โ full blockchain today (~650 GB) + room to grow through 2027+
- โ3 dedicated KVM vCPU + 24 GB RAM โ Lightning + indexers running simultaneously without throttling
- โUbuntu 22.04 LTS with full SSH root access
- โDedicated fixed IPv4 + Tor v3 onion address included
What you can run on your Full Node
The node comes with Bitcoin Core and Lightning pre-installed. Everything else you install via SSH in minutes.
Your Lightning node routes payments and earns sats
With Lightning Network activated, your node isn't just a validator: it's a payment router. Every transaction routed through your channels generates a small fee in satoshis. With 24 GB of RAM you can maintain dozens of active channels simultaneously and contribute to network liquidity.
- โOpen channels with any node on the Lightning network
- โEvery routed payment earns automatic fees in satoshis
- โVisual management with Thunderhub, RTL or Zeus from the browser
- โCompatible with autopilot for automatic channel management
- โPrivate channels for personal use + public for routing

Frequently asked technical questions
We always install the latest stable Bitcoin Core at activation time. When Bitcoin Core releases a new version, we notify you and perform the upgrade during a low-impact maintenance window. You can also force the upgrade yourself via SSH at any time.
You can choose between LND (the most popular Lightning client, written in Go) and Core Lightning / CLN (Blockstream's client, more lightweight). Indicate your preference at checkout or contact support and we'll configure it before delivering the node. You can also install both if you want.
The node is activated within 24 business hours. Unlike syncing from scratch (which can take 3โ7 days), we deliver the node with a recent blockchain snapshot already downloaded. It only needs to verify the latest blocks, which typically takes 2โ6 hours.
Yes. The Full Node plan includes the complete blockchain without pruning, allowing your node to serve historical blocks to other peers and be compatible with Electrum Personal Server and explorers like Mempool.space.
Yes, full root SSH access with public key authentication from the first minute. You can install any additional software, modify Bitcoin Core configuration, open firewall ports, or do whatever you need. It's your server.
Dedicated and exclusive IPv4. Your node has its own IP address that doesn't change, which is important for peer-to-peer network reputation and for configuring external wallets like Sparrow or Specter pointing to your node.
Yes. We configure a Tor v3 (.onion) address for your node. This allows wallets like Sparrow to connect to your node via Tor for more privacy, and allows your node to announce its .onion address on the Bitcoin network to accept incoming connections without revealing your IPv4.
Yes, that's one of the main reasons to run your own node. Sparrow Wallet connects directly to Bitcoin Core via RPC or through Electrum Personal Server (EPS). Specter Desktop also connects to your node via RPC. We provide connection details at activation.
The Bitcoin blockchain grows approximately 50โ70 GB per year. With 1 TB SSD you have room until approximately 2027โ2028 at the current growth rate. When space approaches the limit, you can upgrade storage without migrating the node or losing data.
Yes. With 24 GB RAM and 3 vCPU you can run Bitcoin Core + LND + BTCPay Server or Mempool.space simultaneously without issues. BTCPay uses the same Bitcoin Core node as backend. Mempool.space also requires an indexer (electrs), which fits comfortably in the plan.
